I do like Zappa, and I can see the correlation somewhat between him and Phish. For some reason, Phish just doesn't hit me the same way. Perhaps my brain only has room for one musician who approaches music in such an unorthodox away.

Joe's Garage will be playing at my wake.

That was f**king great! I have't laughed that hard in days! They did a great job with it!

Reminds me of a story where a friend of mine was in a bar one night, very drunk. He is just standing there with a drink in his hand when suddenly he lets loose at the top of his lungs "FUCK ME YOU UGLY SON-OF-A-BITCH!!!!" pauses, looks around and then says "Any takers?"

"this is the central scrruuuutinizer..."

Up until Joe's Garage I really didn't get into Zappa that much but I saw a show on that tour that just blew me away. I totally wasn't prepared that night for the class A act and one of the tightest bands that I have ever heard. Really one of those lifetime memorable shows. Turned me into a fan for life.

funny, with phish I know they are talented and respect their music but just not my cup of tea. Though who knows, the light might come on someday like it did for Frank.
